Refund Policy

Quick reference

1. Pro subscription ($9/month)

Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the LemonSqueezy customer portal. The cancel link is in your purchase receipt email. Cancellation takes effect immediately: future billing stops, but your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds for past months

We do not refund past months of an active Pro subscription. Once a month is charged and Pro features have been available to you, that month is non-refundable. This is consistent with industry practice for monthly SaaS subscriptions.

First-month-free trial

Pro starts with a free first month. If you cancel during the free month, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel, your card will be charged at the start of month two.

Exceptions

We will issue a full refund of any month if:

• The Service experienced a service-wide outage of more than 72 consecutive hours during that month
• You were charged after a successful cancellation due to a billing system error
• You are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory cooling-off rights (e.g. EU 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU) and you exercise those rights within the statutory window

2. Bundle ($39 one-time)

14-day money-back guarantee

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on the Bundle. If you are not satisfied for any reason, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund through LemonSqueezy. No questions asked, no justification required.

This 14-day window also satisfies the EU consumer "cooling-off" right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU and equivalent UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, applied uniformly to all customers.

After 14 days

After the 14-day window closes, the Bundle becomes non-refundable. Your perpetual license to Filter Pro lifetime + the doc + the prompt pack + the guide remains valid.

Bulk-download exception

If you have downloaded all four Bundle deliverables (50 banned phrases doc, 30 voice-preserving prompts, Substack growth guide, Filter Pro lifetime activation), the EU right of withdrawal does not apply (services fully performed). You can still request a refund within 14 days, and we will honor it in good faith for first-time buyers.

3. How to request a refund

1. Email komarununi.business@gmail.com with subject line "Refund request" and include:
   • Your order email (the address used at LemonSqueezy checkout)
   • The LemonSqueezy order ID (in your receipt email)
   • The product (Pro / Bundle)
   • Your reason (optional; not required for Bundle 14-day refunds)
2. Reply within 24 hours. We confirm refund eligibility and forward the request to LemonSqueezy.
3. LemonSqueezy processes the refund to your original payment method. Processing time is typically 5-10 business days, depending on your bank. For card refunds in some regions, it may take up to 30 days for the refund to appear on your statement.

4. Merchant of Record — how this works

All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record (MoR). For refunds, this means:

• The refund is issued by LemonSqueezy on Komaru's instruction.
• The refund returns to your original payment method (card / PayPal / etc.).
• VAT, sales tax, or other taxes that LemonSqueezy collected are refunded along with the principal.
• Currency conversion fees from your bank or card issuer are not refunded by us — they are between you and your card issuer.

5. Chargebacks

Please contact us first before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We are a solo project and respond to refund requests within 24 hours; a direct refund through us is faster and cleaner than a chargeback.

Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of any remaining service access. LemonSqueezy may also flag the payment method for fraud review across their merchant network.

6. Edge cases

Duplicate purchase

If you accidentally purchased the Bundle twice or subscribed to Pro twice with the same email, email us. We will refund the duplicate within 24 hours.

Service shutdown

In the unlikely event Komaru shuts down the Service, active Pro subscribers receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of their current billing period. Bundle holders retain the doc, prompt pack, and guide as downloads. The Filter Pro lifetime license becomes void if the filter infrastructure is no longer operational, but no further refund is owed beyond the original 14-day window.

Account termination for breach

If your account is terminated for breach of our Terms of Service (fraud, abuse, illegal use), no refund is issued, regardless of remaining subscription period.

Currency and exchange rates

All prices are quoted in USD. LemonSqueezy may charge in local currency at the prevailing exchange rate. Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. Currency fluctuations between purchase and refund are not our responsibility.

7. Consumer protection

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes mandatory consumer rights you have under your local law. If you are an EU or UK consumer, the 14-day right of withdrawal applies to the Bundle. For Pro subscriptions, the right of withdrawal is waived once Pro features have been used, consistent with EU Directive 2011/83/EU Article 16(m) (digital content provided with consumer's consent).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter and on the landing page banner at least 30 days before taking effect. The terms in effect at the time of your purchase apply to that purchase.
